i know posting this might be a little petty and it may seem hypocritical. but i believe in basic courtesy and respect.

let me first say that, i'm sorry for being late that morning. i had overslept due to the late nights i had for the past week (work related), but i figured that since you'll be having so many pple running ard and harassing you, i don't need to add on to the numbers. i'd rather come later and help settle last min stuff.

i think, as a friend, it is an honour to be asked to be a bride's maid/bestman/jie-mei/brothers. in a way, it shows how impt you are in a person's life to be included in the preparation and process of the wedding. and as the jie-mei/brother of the day, one should at least make the effort in ensuring that THE DAY is successful and forever remembered by the happy couple.

of cos, the happy couple will definitely have some things they want done (their way) during the wedding, and as jie mei/brother, we should abide by them. like for example - dresses. although it may seem a little like 'what the? how to find a dress??' at first... but there is a reason and motive for doing so. as i have found out, it was the grandma who didn't want us to wear black/white/red/prints (heard from someone).

if it's a request from an senior person, then should we not try our best to accommodate? i mean, sure, we'll grumble about how hard it is to find a dress, but we still went out to find it. so what makes you so special that you had to go buy a gold and BLACK mesh dress when it was already specifically stated that there will be NO BLACK. maybe it was okie with the bride or the rest of the jie-meis. but i feel that as a basic sign of respect and courtesy towards the grandma AND bride, that you should have stuck to what the REST of the girls were wearing.

maybe i'm biased, but the dress sure seem like more black than gold to me. oh wait! i know why... the black mesh covered the entire dress!!! (imagine a bridal veil, but black.. base colour of dress is champagne) and whatever happened to 'i didn't mean to make an exception of myself'??? you just did!!

perhaps it was ok with the bride. but personally, i just think not enough effort was made, and it's disrespectful towards the couple on their wedding day. and moreover, as the LEAD coordinator of the jie-meis, shouldn't you be the one taking the lead and setting an example. whatever happened to leadership and fellowship among peers? (i really feel like targeting the religion.. but it's really the pple who 自找 and give the religion a bad name)

doesn't friendship alone make you wanna try harder for the other person, to make her/his special day SPECIAL and memorable. to accommodate some special requests for that one day? doesn't friendship mean that you should be respectful towards the other party? maybe it's just me and perhaps the expectations i have placed on my own friendship with people, maybe that's why i'm disappointed a lot... but what about basic courtesy and respect???
